Apparently, Mr. George Bush is playing around with Daylights Saving/Standard time and is imposing new rules on when they are to be observed next year. Canada, being the followers that we are of all things American, has agreed to do the same.

So first, the demoting of Pluto and now this? Who comes up with these things?

Jon Wong is also on the receiving end of the following line: "we need to talk". Uh oh. Of course, we all know by now that anytime someone says "we need to talk", it doesn't really actually mean that the two of you need to talk; rather, the one person needs to talk and you are a requisite listener being either the subject or cause of what he/she needs to say.

Someone recently pointed out, "why would the human race spend its entire existance looking for answers if there weren't any?"

w00t! I feel pretty good today for some reason. Perhaps it's because it's Karen's birthday. Or perhaps it was because it was the first day of good weather we in Kingston have had in awhile. There could be a slew of reasons. Definitely not because there's a lull in the workload... au contraire, I find myself especially swamped at this point in the year.

Why have I not heard back from the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Perhaps I should badger them.

Oh, and funny story (or at least partially amusing story) of my romp around downtown Kingston this past Saturday:

I go to visit the Doorbell Room House at 8 to find that they're not in. I then proceed to romp around downtown Kingston for 45 minutes before finding a bench under a large leafy tree in front of a shipyard. I sat there for another 30-45 minutes before continuing my walk down Ontario street, getting hopelessly lost at one point having made several random turns, discover that White Mountin is closed, and eventually find myself on King Street East and around Waldron Towers. I blunder around some more and end up at Leonard Field. I infiltrate Gord 5, find that the guys in my old room are out, the door to every door on the floor is closed, and proceed to go on a campus tour before ending up back at the Doorbell Room House... to find that one of them had returned.

I've said this before. Wouldn't the wooing process be so much easier if we could spontaneously break out into random song with a mysterious, unseen orchestra playing in the background?

So, I was chatting with Linda today when she decided, for some reason, to play Beauty And The Beast and to admire certain scenes. I was a Disney freak when I was young so I'm fine with that. This evolved into her saying (after a discussion on Paige O'Hara's hot sounding vocals) that she wanted me to do a duet with her for Aladdin's A Whole New World because Alan feigned ignorance at singing ability. I told her I wasn't sure I remembered the lyrics so we search the music video on You Tube. What this evolved into was watching the video in all the available languages. We saw the movie clip with vocals in French, Russian, German, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and of course, Arabic (which logically is what the movie should be recorded in). I have to admit that the German dubbing of A Whole New World sounds really good. Go watch it on You Tube. Actually, maybe I'll try and post it.

OK, how many blogs on that list of links are dead? None of them have been formally deleted (which you can do, mind you), but most of them are more or less non active. Being organized, I'm somewhat tempted to delete the inactive links but that would probably eliminate the entire list altogether...

Jon Wong just had his annual Thanksgiving meal and he is very thankful for every facet of his life thus far. There's some poetic justice in my taking so much pleasure out of my Thanksgiving meal (the one meal of the year I actually look forward to). It makes sense that only after I've appreciated everything thus far in my life that I can truly appreciate the food.

"My dream role would probably be a psycho killer, because the whole thing I love about movies is that you get to do things you could never do in real life, and that would be my way of vicariously experiencing being a psycho killer. Also, it's incredibly romantic."
-- Christina Ricci

Leave it up to a girl like her to find psycho killers incredibly romantic.

Yeah, Jon Wong just watched his second (it could be classified as the first because I didn't really watch all of it the first time) screening of Anything Else. I loved it. However, I can see why it's a movie that some people might hate. I think you need to be a certain kind of person or have certain kinds of experiences to appreciate what goes on in the film.

"They drive her crazy? She's already crazy! The Pentagon should use her hormones for chemical warfare!"

Boy, does that remind me of someone I used to know.

I live in a funny house. I've been quite content with this first month. But it's October!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
